Context
Demographic growth and multiple challenges
According to UNFPA projections, sub-Saharan Africa is set to contribute more than half of the world’s population increase by 2050, reaching 2.1 billion inhabitants, rising to 3.8 billion by the end of the century. This demographic boom represents a major challenge for governments, particularly in terms of urban mobility and environmental sustainability.
Challenges and opportunities
Building tomorrow's mobility
The transition to sustainable mobility raises strategic questions: how to balance economic growth and environmental preservation? Which energy choices should be favored in the context of a varied energy mix? SAM-E will bring together experts and decision-makers to discuss these issues and identify solutions adapted to the African continent.
Current situation
A call to action for Africa
In the face of global warming, Africa needs to rethink its transport model. While fossil fuels remain essential to our development, a transition to cleaner alternatives is inevitable. Governments, businesses and citizens have a key role to play in encouraging sustainable mobility policies and accelerating the adoption of green technologies.
